Real estate in the city of Berlin Old

To date, thanks to liberalizing reforms in the Berlin real estate market, there areתמונת מצב של הנדלן בעיר ברלין 1.8 million apartments of which 340,000 are owned by the government who controls the rent levels or alternatively pays the rent of the indigent population. As a result, only 13 % of the city’s residents own a home and the rest lives in rented apartments, compared to 30% of the German residents who have their own home. Such a high number of government-owned apartments (which are offered for rent) reflects the fact that a large number of residents from lower socio-economic classes are occupying large areas of the city. Berlin is home to about 3.5 million people, of which 13% are foreign residents from 185 different countries. Still, the urban density amounts to 4000 inhabitants/km only. Just as a comparison, Tel Aviv e.g. has a density of twice as much, namely 8000 inhabitants/km. The number of Israeli visitors to Berlin has increased from 12,000 in 2002 to about 50,000 in 2010. The number of Israelis who permanently live in Berlin is estimated to be 15,000.
